Reese Popst, LMFT-T
My name is Reese Popst, and I am a Marriage and Family Therapist based in Wichita, Kansas. I work with individuals, couples, and families seeking to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
I hold undergraduate and graduate degrees in Accounting and Finance from Texas A&M and began my career as a CPA. I later served as an FBI Special Agent, focusing on counterterrorism and crimes against children investigations and was trained as a crisis/hostage negotiator. These experiences deepened my understanding of the human condition, sparked my deep appreciation for the power of empathy, communication, and authentic connection which ultimately led to my transition into being a therapist.
I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Friends University and now draw on a diverse range of therapeutic models to support clients facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, traumatic experiences, identity development, and family dynamics. My approach is rooted in empathy, evidenced based practice, and is informed by years of real-world experience in order to be tailored to help each client achieve their personal goals.

The image of a lighthouse captures the essence of what successful therapy can be. A lighthouse is a source of calm for a sailor navigating a storm to understand where they are, how to get to safety, and where difficulty may be along their journey.
A lighthouse does not discriminate against whom it helps, but rather exists as a resource for any who desire to use its service. At Lighthouse Therapy Wichita, I believe the same and exist to work with any human who desires to become the healthiest version of themselves.

Finally, a lighthouse does not do all the work in getting a sailor to shore but is an essential component in the sailor’s tool box to reach safety. Similarly, at Lighthouse Therapy Wichita, I strive to provide a place of of hope and guidance, offering customized approaches for each client as they discover they are the true and ultimate hero of their own unique story.​
